About the horses
Ben
Ben is a 16 year old clydesdale cross. He has been a part of our family since 2000. He is a very kind and gentle horse who is good around crowds of people and small children. He truly lives up to his name gentle giant. He loves to get dressed up for that special ocassion and have his picture taken along side of the bride or who ever wishes to have their picture taken with him.   Once we were asked to sell him,we said there was not enough money any one could offer us. He has won numerous awards in his class, such as 1st place, 2nd place and reserved grand champion.   When you meet him you'll know why he is such a special horse.Without him there would be no,"East Coast Carriage Rides." He is one of a kind.   (Ben's B-Day June 15th 1991)
Precious
Precious is a 7 year old Belgian mare. She has won 2nd place in her weight class in 2004. She is good around people and is a beauty. She has done some hay rides with the children in the Heart's Delight-Islington town days.   Danny enjoys riding on Precious & spends lots of time working with her. Precious has done weddings this past summer .(Precious B-Day March 28th 2002)
Jessie
In February of 2008 we walked into a barn and I saw this poor horse. She was destined for a meat truck and when I looked at her I said " no."   So here she is,Jessie, the newest addition to East Coast Carriage Rides. She is a 8 year old Percheron mare. Stephen will be training her to do carriage rides in the future. When she was a baby ,her and her mother were chased by kids on ATV's. Her mother tried to protect her but she died. She fell over a cliff and Jessie ran through the trees to get away from the kids. The owners of Jessie found her looking over the cliffs at her dead mother. So she is a very special horse.( Jessie's B-day May 23, 2001)
